5.2 Document Permissions

5.2.1 Document Permission Usage

Document permissions are the fundamental access controls within the Kedao Cloud system, governing every document-related operation performed by users. The key scenarios where document permissions are applied include:

  • Department or Public Network Disk Permissions: These define a user's access level within a department or public network disk.
  • File or Folder Permissions: These specify the permissions for individual users or groups on specific documents or folders.
  • Internal Collaboration and Sharing: Since departments are isolated from one another, cross-departmental collaboration requires the establishment of communication channels via the "File Collaboration and Sharing" feature, allowing designated users or groups to work together.
Despite the varied application scenarios, document permissions across the entire system adhere to a consistent logic.

5.2.2 Viewing Your Own Document Permissions

Permissions in Kedao Cloud are organized into combinations that encapsulate a series of system permissions. Typically, these combinations are configured by the system administrator before being deployed in the production environment. When users need to configure permissions, they can easily select a pre-defined combination.

After logging into the system, users can view their document permissions for the current directory by clicking the permissions icon in the upper right corner of the address bar.
Upon clicking the document permissions icon, a permission combination table will appear, serving as a reference for setting your own permissions. For example, selecting the "Administrator" option will display the following permission combination table:
  • Manager: This role has the highest level of authority within the document directory. The key distinction of a manager is the ability to manage document permissions for other users or groups, as well as overseeing document comments, version history, and more.

  • No Permission: When this setting is applied, the specified user or group will not have visibility or access to the related documents.
